Wipro reported a 2.3 per cent decline in revenue for the fiscal year ending FY25, but the company’s leadership has signalled a strong pivot toward long-term investments in AI, leadership development and inclusive workforce strategies. While topline growth showed softness, profitability remained robust.
The company is placing its bets on becoming an “AI-first” organisation. Over 87,000 employees have already been trained in generative AI, positioning Wipro to embed AI into service delivery and client solutions. As part of this shift, Wipro has collaborated with 63 academic institutions to bolster technical capabilities and future-ready skills.
Large deal momentum has remained strong, with the company securing $5.4 billion in wins during the year. Many of these deals now involve AI integrations to improve efficiency, innovation, and business value for clients.
Wipro has also made strides in improving employee retention. Attrition dropped to 15 per cent, aided by internal leadership mobility programmes and structured development efforts through the Wipro Leadership Institute. These initiatives are seen as key to building a stable, future-ready workforce.
Diversity and inclusion efforts continued to gain momentum. Women now make up 37 per cent of the total workforce and 33 per cent of Wipro’s board-level independent directors. The company earned global recognition for its DEI practices, including a DEI Lighthouse status from the World Economic Forum.
Additionally, Wipro introduced a holistic well-being programme focused on physical, mental, and financial health, designed to support the needs of a multigenerational workforce. With these moves, the company is positioning itself not just to weather market challenges but to grow sustainably through innovation and inclusive leadership.
