Coursera has launched Skill Tracks, a structured learning solution designed to help organisations close critical workforce skill gaps by linking learning directly to job roles. The initiative responds to findings from the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, which shows that 60% of Singaporean employers cite skill gaps as the biggest barrier to transformation, with seven in 10 workers needing reskilling within five years.
Backed by Coursera’s Career Graph, a system powered by labour market data, competency frameworks, and a proprietary skills taxonomy, Skill Tracks map job roles to the precise skills and training required. Starting with four tracks, Software and Product, IT, Data, and Generative AI, the solution offers a guided path from foundational to advanced proficiency.
Each Skill Track integrates content from industry leaders and universities, hands-on practice, and skills verification, enabling employees to apply knowledge directly to their roles. Key features include:
- Customisation: Organisations can align Skill Tracks with internal tools, workflows, and priorities.
- Verifiable credentials: Workers gain proof of applied, job-ready skills through real-world assessments.
- Real-time workforce insights: Employers can monitor progress, ensure training reflects evolving job demands, and tie skill development to business outcomes.
Coursera CEO Greg Hart highlighted that businesses often adopt technology faster than employees can adapt: ‘Skill Tracks deliver a learning experience built around occupations and tasks, helping employees master the right skills to grow their careers and drive business results.’
Additional tracks and features, including skill diagnostics and performance-based credentials, are expected in the coming months. Skill Tracks are available to existing Coursera customers with full catalog access, with options for new customers to purchase individually or bundled.
