13-Year TCS Techie Forced to Resign & Pay Rs 60,000?

Big corporations often claim to value their employees as their biggest strength. But behind polished branding and leadership statements, stories sometimes emerge that reveal how differently workers are treated within the system.

A recent post by the Forum for IT Employees (FITE) has exposed one such case involving Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). According to FITE, a TCS employee with 13 years of service was forced to resign without compensation and later asked to repay Rs 60,000.

The amount was reportedly linked to company-sponsored health insurance. FITE also called the much-publicised Rs 1,200-crore TCS layoff package misleading, saying it doesn’t reflect the actual hardships faced by many long-serving employees.

The post quickly gained traction online, sparking anger among tech professionals. Many tagged the Prime Minister’s Office, Labour Ministry, and state officials, urging them to investigate the case and protect employee rights.

If the allegations hold true, they raise serious questions about corporate accountability. In a sector known for innovation and global reach, fair employment practices should evolve just as fast as technology itself.
