ByteDance was the top tech recruiter in mainland China from January to October 2025, according to a report by Maimai, a professional networking platform.
The company, which owns TikTok, recorded a hiring index of 897, outpacing Meituan at 587, and Alibaba at 407.
AI-related job postings across China jumped 543% year-on-year, though Maimai did not disclose actual numbers.
Smart hardware firm Dreame saw the fastest rise in new job postings, followed by iFlyTek and Amap.
Oppo, Transsion Holdings, and DJI doubled their job listings during the same period.
Average monthly salaries for AI roles reached 61,764 yuan (US$8,800), higher than the new-economy sector’s average of 45,553 yuan (US$6,464).
ByteDance also led AI job postings, with RedNote and Ant Group trailing.
