Yet another Gen Z employee’s casually given response to the manager is circulating on social media and is “inspiring” netizens! A video was recently shared on social media, which showed a man recalling an incident- that involved his manager and a Gen Z colleague. As per the video, the boss had allegedly assigned a last-minute task to the said employee- right before her shift was about to get over. However, unlike what other employees from the older generations would have done, this young employee chose to stand up for herself! “Your lack of planning is not my emergency, thank you,” the employee allegedly responded.
The post went viral in an instant, leaving netizens cracking up. Most lauded the woman’s “courage”, while some recalled their own similar instances. A few also commented how the reply was “rude”.
The post was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘priyaank_arora’. The viral post was shared a few days back and pulled more than 221K views from people.
Internet’s reactions:
“Gen Z is still understanding how corporations function. GenZ has not yet seen any economic slow downs, recessions. Some are yet to have their own thoughts. GenZ might be bringing new thoughts for sure. Just be patient to conclude on it,” a user said.
“As an HR, please don’t say this to your manager. There are other ways to say no. Trying to be all sassy and cool will not end well for you. A couple of formal complaints and boom rating goes down, and now you are being issued a CAP (Corrective Action Plan). All these things only work when you have a strong backing from your parents or you come from a very well to do family. Not wanting to work after working hours is totally fine and a personal choice but being polite doesn’t hurt,” commented the next.
“Bro these powerful tricks only girls have,” added another person. “Gen Z is still understanding how corporations function. GenZ has not yet seen any economic slow downs, recessions. Some are yet to have their own thoughts. GenZ might be bringing new thoughts for sure. Just be patient to conclude on it,” added another.
