The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially announced the Eid Al Fitr 2026 holiday schedule for all employees across the public and private sectors.
For the public sector, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) confirmed that federal government employees will observe the Eid Al Fitr holiday from March 19 to March 22, 2026, with work resuming on March 23.
“Eid Al-Fitr holiday for the federal government from March 19 to 22, 2026,” FAHR said.
In a separate announcement for all private sector employees, the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MOHRE) stated that employees will receive a paid holiday from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21, 2026.
“The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has announced that the Eid Al Fitr holiday for the private sector will start from Thursday, March 19 to Saturday, March 21, 2026, which is a paid holiday for all employees,” the ministry said.
The ministry added that if the holy month of Ramadan completes 30 days, the private sector holiday will be extended to include Sunday, March 22, 2026.
“If Ramadan completes 30 days, the holiday will be extended to Sunday, March 22, 2026,” it added.
The announcements provide clarity for both government entities and private companies as the country prepares for Eid Al Fitr celebrations.
