A 25-year-old jobseeker has shared a deeply concerning account of his ongoing struggle to find employment after being fired five months ago. With savings almost exhausted and rent due for the final time, he says he is now at a breaking point, unable to secure even entry-level work despite constant efforts.
The post, shared on Reddit, highlights the financial and emotional pressure faced by young graduates trying to enter the job market.
The individual, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, said he was fired from his previous job after working for nearly six months. Since then, he has been applying continuously but without success.
“I’ve been paying rent out of what I managed to save from my previous job but this is the last month I have money for rent,” he wrote.
APPLYING EVERYWHERE BUT GETTING NOWHERE
According to his post, he has tried almost every possible option to find work. He has applied through job boards, company websites, cold-called local businesses, and registered with temp agencies. He has also applied for entry-level roles in fast food and grocery stores.
However, the response has been disappointing. “My local grocery stores, food chains, are all ghosting me,” he says.
Despite living in a city with a population of over 120,000, he says opportunities feel almost invisible.
NO CAR, NO BENEFITS, NO BACKUP PLAN
The jobseeker explains that he cannot take delivery jobs like DoorDash because his car is too old and unreliable.
Adding to his frustration, he says he does not qualify for unemployment benefits because he was fired. He was reportedly told he would need to earn a minimum amount, around 750 dollars, before becoming eligible again, a condition he finds difficult to understand while already unemployed.
“I don’t qualify for unemployment because I was fired,” he wrote, adding frustration over having to meet earning conditions before becoming eligible again.
He also said returning home is not an option, and he has nothing left to sell or fall back on.
With savings exhausted, and no job offers in sight, his situation has become critical.
“I’m just stranded. I’m about to go homeless from this and need advice on how to break through into SOME job,” he wrote in his post, appealing for guidance from others.

The post reflects a growing concern among young jobseekers, limited experience, rising living costs, and intense competition for even basic roles. Despite a willingness to work in any sector, breaking into the job market remains difficult for many.
For now, the jobseeker remains in urgent need of employment, hoping for any opportunity that can help him regain stability.
