A tech professional based in Noida has raised concerns about his unemployed flatmate, who is reportedly dealing with rejection and anxiety while trying to secure a job. In a post on X, the user named Aditya explained that despite putting in effort and attending interviews, his flatmate continues to face rejection due to weak English skills.
“One of my Flatmates is still jobless,” Aditya alleged. “We are 4 people living together. 3 of us have something, I have a full-time job, 2 are doing internships. But one of my flatmates still has nothing.”
Rising Stress and Emotional Struggles
Aditya described how the situation is affecting his flatmate emotionally, noting a visible increase in stress.
“Every day I see him getting more stressed and quiet. Sometimes he comes to me and says, ‘Bro I don’t know what to do… I am really depressed. What should I tell my family?’ And honestly, I have no answer.”
“He even gave interviews. He tried. But got rejected because his English is not strong,” he added, highlighting how language skills have become a hurdle in the job search.
Job Hunt Phase is “Really Hard”
The techie further emphasized that the job search phase can be extremely challenging, especially for final-year students who were not placed through campus recruitment. He pointed out that such individuals are not lacking ability, but are simply going through a difficult phase.
A Message of Empathy and Support
“If you have a job right now, be grateful. And if you know someone struggling, please support them. Sometimes they don’t need advice, they just need someone to understand,” the techie wrote.
How social media reacted
