Walmart is cutting or relocating about 1,000 corporate jobs as it consolidates its technology and AI teams, according to a May 12 memo from two senior executives.
The changes are meant to simplify reporting lines, clarify ownership, and better match roles with the skills Walmart needs, said global CTO Suresh Kumar and AI executive vice president Daniel Danker.
Walmart said it would help affected employees look for other roles at the company where possible, and the move follows earlier closures of smaller office hubs and other efforts to streamline operations.
