Continuing the shake-up of government agencies, US President Donald Trump’s administration has announced a major overhaul in the State Department with plans to eliminate 132 bureaus and slashing about 700 jobs, in line with the government’s “America First” priorities, CNN reported.
The plan has been notified to the Congress and as per an internal State Department memo, 132 of the US State Department’s 734 offices and bureaus are proposed to be shut, while the undersecretaries would submit plans to cut 15% workforce, Reuters reported.
