In a new ranking that casts light on employee sentiment across India’s professional landscape, Blind—the anonymous social platform for verified professionals—has named Zoho, Target, and NVIDIA among the best companies to work for in India.
Meanwhile, e-commerce giant Amazon and Paytm have found themselves on the opposite end of the spectrum, ranking among the lowest-rated employers in the country.
The report, which was based on reviews from professionals accessing Blind from India, analysed data from over 7,000 companies submitted in the past year. Each company was rated on a 5-point scale across six key dimensions: overall satisfaction, career growth, work-life balance, compensation and benefits, company culture, and trust in management.
Culture and leadership outweigh pay
While compensation often dominates headlines, Blind’s analysis reveals that salary alone is a poor predictor of overall employee satisfaction. Instead, company culture and trust in leadership emerged as the most influential drivers of positive reviews.
“Globally, non-monetary factors have consistently shown a stronger correlation with overall satisfaction, while compensation frequently emerges as an outlier,” said Alex Han, Communications Manager at Blind. “This trend holds true in India as well. Our analysis shows that company culture and management have the strongest ties to overall ratings, while compensation shows the weakest.”
This dynamic is reflected starkly in the rankings. American Express, ranked second overall, reports a median salary of $32,250—placing it in the bottom 29% for pay among India-based companies. Conversely, Coinbase, with one of the highest median salaries at $82,000, was rated among the worst workplaces, suggesting that high pay cannot always compensate for perceived deficiencies in culture or management.

Zoho’s inclusion
Sridhar Vembu-founded Zoho’s inclusion among the top-tier global names signals the emergence of Indian companies with strong internal cultures and employee trust.
The Chennai-based software-as-a-service company scored particularly well on company culture, aligning it with American peers like Apple, NVIDIA, and Arista Networks.
Search trends and employee priorities
Blind’s data also revealed the most-searched companies by India-based users. The top 10 included Meta, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, NVIDIA, ByteDance, Netflix, OpenAI, and Walmart. The prominence of search terms such as “India offer,” “layoff,” “promotion,” and “H-1B” reflected concerns over career progression, job security, and international mobility.
To ensure accuracy, Blind said it only included companies with a minimum of 10 reviews submitted by verified users in India. The platform verifies employment through corporate email authentication and other validation methods. Salary insights are based on self-reported data that include base pay, bonuses, and equity, where applicable, it said.
Since May 2020, Blind has been compiling data from professionals across 350,000 companies globally, aiming to democratize workplace insights and foster transparency in employment decisions.
