EnerSys to cut 575 corporate jobs in global restructuring move

Energy services provider, EnerSys has announced plans to lay off approximately 575 employees, that is, around 11 per cent of its non-production global workforce.

The job cuts will primarily affect corporate and management roles, as the company initiates a broad restructuring effort to streamline operations and reduce costs.

As of 31 March, EnerSys employed 10,858 people worldwide. The company stated that it expects the layoffs to be largely completed by the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2026.

To facilitate the restructuring, EnerSys anticipates incurring one-time charges ranging between $15 million and $20 million during the second and third quarters. However, the company projects significant long-term financial benefits, with annualised savings of about $80 million starting in fiscal 2026.

The move comes as part of EnerSys’ strategic efforts to adapt to evolving market demands and enhance operational efficiency. By focusing the layoffs on non-production functions, the company aims to preserve its manufacturing capacity while repositioning its corporate structure for future growth.
