FedEx Upskills India’s Youth For Future-Ready Jobs

FedEx Express has stepped up its commitment to youth empowerment by equipping young Indians with industry-relevant skills tailored to today’s digital and logistics landscape. The initiative is part of a broader vision to bridge the employability gap through hands-on learning, especially for first-generation professionals and underserved communities.

Through partnerships with nonprofit organisations and training institutes, FedEx has facilitated the skilling of over 1,500 youth in emerging domains such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, warehouse automation, and last-mile logistics. What sets this initiative apart is its blend of technical training with soft skills like communication, workplace readiness, and mentorship—key tools that make the leap from learning to employment smoother and more sustainable.

Nitin Navneet Tatiwala, Vice President – Marketing, Customer Experience and Air Network (MEA & Indian Subcontinent) at FedEx, remarked, “India’s young workforce holds immense potential. At FedEx, we’re not just training them for jobs; we’re preparing them for careers that grow with the economy and digital innovation.”

The results speak volumes. Nearly 930 participants have secured employment across sectors like e-commerce, healthcare, retail, and technology, with starting salaries ranging from ₹13,000 to ₹30,000. Over 60% of the trained youth were women—many entering formal employment for the first time.

Delivered under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), the programme offers a blended learning model. Classroom instruction is integrated with on-the-job training, mock interviews, digital fluency modules, and real-time projects. According to feedback, the programme has instilled both confidence and a sense of economic independence among participants.

“I didn’t know how to navigate the job market. This course helped me find my voice and my path,” shared Afsana from Delhi, now employed in the logistics sector. Rachana from Bengaluru added, “It was my first formal job. The training gave me the courage to take that step.”

As India looks to capitalise on its demographic dividend, programmes like these are not just about placements—they’re about purpose. FedEx’s ongoing investment in youth skilling, digital literacy, and inclusive employment marks a critical step toward building a resilient, adaptable, and future-ready workforce.
