‘I Fell From Bike, Need Leave...’: Employee Sends Serious Injury Photo To HR, But The Truth Is Far From What It Seems

Google recently launched a new version of its Nano Banana AI image tool, and people are amazed at how lifelike the generated images look. Many users began testing it immediately after the launch, with results that left everyone stunned. One user decided to put the tool to the test by trying a small trick at work: he uploaded a photo of his hand and asked the AI to add fake wounds. Within moments, the tool produced an image so realistic, it was hard to believe it was artificial.

He decided to send the edited photo to his office HR, claiming he had fallen off his bike and needed medical care, so he wouldn’t be able to come to work. The HR believed the image and promptly approved his paid leave, advising him to rest and see a doctor.

Employee Tests AI By Faking An Injury For Leave

The person posted a screenshot of his chat with the HR team, where he shared the AI-generated injury photo and informed them, “While coming to the office, I fell from my bike and got injured. I need to visit the doctor for bandaging, and I won’t be able to come in today. I request paid leave for today, please.” The HR first replied with concern and said they would check with the senior. When he said the matter was urgent, the HR responded, saying, “Don’t worry. Please go to the doctor and get the dressing done. I had a word with Vishal sir, your paid leave for today is approved. Take care and rest well.”

The post on X (Formerly Twitter) came with the caption, “AI just broke HR verification. An employee took a clean photo of his hand — no injury, nothing. He opened Gemini Nano and typed: ‘Apply an injury on my hand.’ In seconds, AI generated a hyper-realistic wound: sharp, detailed, medically believable. He sent it to HR, saying he ‘fell from his bike.’ HR saw the photo, felt bad, and instantly approved his paid leave. Here’s the crazy part: There was no accident. No wound. Only an AI-generated injury.”

“HR systems were built for a world where photos were proof. But now they’re facing 2025-level AI, and they’re getting completely outplayed. If people start using AI to fake injuries, medical proof, or claims, HR, insurance, and compliance teams are in serious trouble. AI isn’t the villain. Outdated verification is. Welcome to the era of AI vs AI, where trust has to be redesigned from scratch,” the individual added.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Where I live, to get paid leave, you need a signed medical report from a doctor. If the doctor says you’re fit to work, then you’re good to work.”

“Now they’ll ask for live video while holding up today’s newspaper,” a comment read.

An individual stated, “If your company asks for proof when you need to take a sick leave or unplanned leave, you are working in the wrong company.”

Another mentioned, “Employees shouldn’t have to do this. Insurance companies already have doctors in the loop.”

One more added, “Now we have to make a product that verifies whether the image is AI or not.”

What Is Nano Banana Pro?
