The Maharashtra government has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth ₹42,893 crore, aiming to attract large-scale investments and generate over 28,500 jobs across the state. The agreements span diverse sectors including solar energy, data centres, industrial equipment, green energy, steel, logistics, and real estate, underlining Maharashtra’s commitment to building a robust, future-ready economy.
Key investments include Prestige Estate Projects Ltd., committing ₹12,500 crore to data infrastructure and real estate, expected to create around 8,700 roles, and Jupiter International Ltd., investing ₹10,900 crore in solar panel manufacturing with approximately 8,300 positions. Several data centre projects by companies such as Rochak Systems, Rovision Tech Hub, and Webmint Digital are expected to add thousands more jobs, reflecting the state’s emergence as a hub for digital infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted Maharashtra’s rapid transformation into the “data centre capital” of India and emphasised the state’s focus on solar energy integration. He also announced accelerated development on the futuristic hyperloop project, in partnership with IIT Bombay and IIT Madras, further signalling Maharashtra’s ambitions to pioneer next-generation transport and technology solutions.
These developments are set to not only strengthen the state’s industrial and technological landscape but also provide significant opportunities for the workforce, enhancing employment prospects across multiple skill levels and reinforcing Maharashtra’s position as a preferred investment destination.
