Microsoft AI boss Mustafa Sulayman has been very vocal about AI eating up a lot of jobs in the future. Now, he has again issued a warning that says multiple white collar jobs like lawyers and accountants because most of the roles will be automated by AI. In an interview with the Financial Times, Suleyman revealed that Microsoft was pushing for a larger share in the enterprise market with professional-grade AGI. He referred to this as an AI model that could accomplish everything a human does in a professional environment.
Following that, Suleyman predicted considerable changes in the workforce were in store for the future. He also said the same thing as Hyperwrite CEO that everyone who does a job on their computer is at risk. He said, ‘White-collar jobs – those sitting in front of computers, whether lawyers, accountants, project managers, or marketers – most of these tasks will be fully automated by AI within the next 12 to 18 months.’
The Microsoft AI Chief’s comments come at a time when more companies are working on AI advancement. He said that making new models in the future will be easier, and they will be developed for specific needs in the near future. Suleyman said, ‘Creating a new model will be as simple as making a podcast or writing a blog. In the future, it will be possible to design AI tailored to the needs of every institution and individual on Earth.’
Furthermore, Suleyman said that in the next two to three years, AI agents will be able to become heavily efficient in handling heavy workflows. A similar kind of statement was stated by Matt Schumer, CEO of Hyperwrite, who warned people that those ignoring AI right now will be left with nothing in the future.
On a concluding note, Suleyman also said, ‘We decided that this was a moment when we have to set about delivering on true AI self-sufficiency.’ According to his statements, new AI Models could make a debut in the global market in 2026.
