• Expanded Company Page Verification: Now available to more businesses, including small companies with a Paid Premium Page subscription. With 85% of business buyers saying trust drives decisions, this expansion helps growing firms build credibility with customers, candidates, and clients.
• Recruiter Workplace Verification: Members adding recruiter-related titles like Recruiter or Talent Acquisition Specialist must now verify their workplace. For job seekers—many of whom are navigating layoffs—this provides confidence that they’re speaking to legitimate recruiters, not impostors.
• Executive Job Title Verification: Senior leadership roles such as Managing Director or Vice President will now require verification, reducing risks of impersonation at the highest levels.
Why it matters now
Since 2023, LinkedIn has steadily expanded its verification ecosystem—from individual identities to jobs, company pages, and recruiters. Today, over 90 million professionals worldwide are verified, and the benefits are clear: verified profiles see 60% more views, 30% more connection requests, and 13% more responses from recruiters.
But beyond numbers, these features address a deeper emotional need. Amid waves of layoffs across industries, professionals face heightened anxiety about job security. In such times, even a single scam encounter can feel devastating—eroding trust in platforms meant to help careers flourish.
Fighting fake accounts at scale
LinkedIn says it already blocks over 99% of fake accounts and scams before they are reported. Between July and December 2024 alone, the platform prevented 80.6 million fake accounts from being created.
