Pasig City will soon open its second round of applications for the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), offering 800 short-term job opportunities to financially challenged in-school youth. The initiative, supported by the Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE), aims to ease the financial burden of college students during academic breaks while fostering work-readiness.
The application window will run online from 1 pm to 3 pm on June 21 via a link to be posted on the city’s official Public Information Office Facebook page. Of the total 800 available slots, 350 are designated for students residing in District 1 and 450 for those in District 2.
Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old, currently enrolled in college for the academic years 2024–2025 or 2025–2026, and belong to families with an annual gross income not exceeding PHP 226,265, the national poverty threshold.SPES is a long-standing employment program designed to give economically disadvantaged but deserving youth access to temporary, paid work during school breaks. The programme not only provides supplemental income but also equips students with practical experience and early exposure to the workforce.
Applicants are advised to prepare the required documents ahead of the limited application window to increase their chances of securing a slot.
