Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has advised its employees in the Middle East to remain indoors and suspended all incoming and outgoing business travel to and from the region, as geopolitical tensions intensify and widespread flight disruptions continue.
According to an internal advisory seen by Moneycontrol, the company has instructed associates to avoid non-essential movement and strictly follow guidance issued by local authorities. Airspace across several countries in the region remains closed, prompting the travel suspension, including transit routes.
“In light of the ongoing geopolitical developments in the Middle East, all our associates have been advised to stay indoors, avoid non-essential travel, and strictly follow guidance issued by local authorities,” the advisory stated. It added that TCS is actively reaching out to impacted employees.
Country leadership and human resources teams have activated a call tree system to prioritise contact with stranded employees in affected and bordering regions. The company said HR and leadership teams are in constant touch with associates and their families, monitoring safety and well-being.
TCS also noted that it is coordinating closely with local authorities and the Indian embassies to track developments and provide updates as the situation evolves.
The company employs over 9,110 people across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, serving more than 150 clients across 11 industries, according to its website.
Travel disruptions have impacted other IT firms as well. Senior executives from Infosys and HCLTech are reportedly stranded in Abu Dhabi and Dubai while en route to attend Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The advisory underscores the growing operational challenges facing global companies with significant presence in the region as geopolitical uncertainty continues to disrupt air travel and business mobility.
