CEO Pay in India Hits ₹7.2 Cr; MNCs Lead in Salaries

India’s corporate corner offices continue to command top dollar, with average CEO compensation touching ₹7.2 crore in FY24, reveals a fresh report by executive search firm Resource Bridge. The findings, drawn from an analysis of nearly 1,000 listed companies, also spotlight notable disparities by ownership, geography, and industry.

The CEO Compensation Report 2025 and CFO Compensation Report 2025 show that CEO salaries have nearly doubled in the past ten years, clocking a steady 9% annual rise. Meanwhile, CFOs earned ₹2.3 crore on average last fiscal, with a 1.7x jump over the same period.

Sectoral & Regional Highlights:
CEOs in the manufacturing space stood out with the highest average pay, while service-sector CFOs led the finance pack. On the regional map, North India emerged as the most lucrative turf for top executives, while the East trailed across functions and company sizes.

Who Pays More? Ownership Tells:
The report underscores how pay packets tend to fatten with foreign ownership. Multinational firms were found to offer significantly higher C-suite compensation compared to their Indian counterparts.

Bigger the Business, Fatter the Paycheque:
Executive pay saw sharp escalations at key revenue inflection points—₹5,000 crore, ₹50,000 crore, and ₹1 lakh crore—indicating how scale and topline muscle heavily influence leadership remuneration.
