Tech Mahindra employee faces backlash over alleged hate comment on LinkedIn

An employee of Tech Mahindra has come under intense criticism online after a comment attributed to him on LinkedIn was widely condemned as hate speech. The post appeared under a news article shared by Hindustan Times regarding reports surrounding Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The employee, identified as Dhanraj Khandagale, who lists his designation as senior technical specialist and is based in Pune, allegedly made a remark calling for the “whitewashing” of an entire religious community. Screenshots of the comment circulated on social-media platforms, triggering strong reactions from users who described the statement as inflammatory and dangerous.

Following the backlash, the comment was deleted. However, criticism continued to mount, with several LinkedIn users tagging Tech Mahindra and questioning the company’s stance on hate speech and employee conduct on public platforms. Many demanded disciplinary action, arguing that such remarks reflect poorly on corporate values and workplace ethics.

Online commenters urged the company to respond formally and clarify whether it would initiate an internal review. Some users also raised broader concerns about responsible social- media behaviour by professionals who publicly associate themselves with their employers.

As of the time of reporting, Tech Mahindra has not issued an official statement addressing the controversy. The incident has reignited discussions about corporate accountability, digital conduct, and the consequences employees may face for statements made on personal social- media accounts.
