Apart from cold emails and applying to companies with vacancies, it’s common for people to also share their ‘availability’ on social media posts- while searching for a job. Doing something similar while desperately searching for work, a woman allegedly asked for ‘help’ with her ‘career’ on Reddit. She also shared her email- in hopes that people with some information will reach out to her for ‘guidance or lead’. However, what instead ended up reaching her was a bizarre mail by a man- who allegedly offered her ‘intimacy’. Yes, you read that correctly. Taking to Reddit, the woman shared the entire matter, along with the screenshot of the said mail. As seen in the mail, the man was allegedly looking for a ‘partner to his intimacy’, due to which he offered to ‘help’ the woman. He further asked her to not worry about her job and instead offered her and her family accommodation in some ‘different city’. Calling it a ‘proposal’, the man further gave the woman the option to either accept or reject it.
Sharing the matter on the internet, the woman expressed her shock and disappointment at such a response. ‘Reading it broke something in me’- the woman wrote in her Reddit post, opening up on how ‘sick and stupid’ she felt for ‘hoping’.
The post went viral in an instant, leaving many furious. Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post.
“I asked for a job. He offered ‘intimacy’ instead,” the post read.
“I posted here asking for help with my career. I’ve been struggling and really needed support. I even shared my email, hoping someone kind might reach out with guidance or a lead.
Instead, I got this message (attached). Reading it broke something in me. It made me feel small, worthless, like my need for help gave someone permission to disrespect me like this. I feel sick. I feel stupid for hoping. I just wanted to work. I just wanted dignity. Please, be careful. And to the person who sent this—you don’t know how much damage you do,” the post read.
The post was shared on Reddit, by the handle ‘kindasus384’. It was shared today and pulled many upvotes from people.
“I’ll never understand the mentality of certain people of my species, never in my life,” a user said. “From the vibes here, he is either a socially inept d*mb*ss or a dangerous calculative sociopath preying on someone’s weakness,” added another.
“Sorry this happened to you. He was trying to be your sugar daddy,” read a third person. “He is such a sick person!!! People like him are the worst, always thinking about that one thing. No wonder he is still alone and will always be like that,” added another.
