The Maharashtra government, in collaboration with Blackstone-backed X-Space Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop state-of-the-art industrial and logistics parks across the state. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, underscoring the government’s commitment to building future-ready infrastructure.
Key Highlights of the MoU
- Over 10 modern parks will be developed across 794.2 acres of land.
- 1.85 crore square feet of built-up area to be created.
- ₹5,127 crore in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) expected.
- 27,510 direct and indirect jobs to be generated.
- Focus on environment-friendly and digitally enabled facilities, aligned with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024.
Strategic Locations Identified
The industrial and logistics parks will be set up in major hubs, including:
- Nagpur
- Bhiwandi
- Chakan
- Panvel
- Sinnar
- Khandwa
These areas were selected for their strategic relevance in Maharashtra’s industrial and multimodal logistics ecosystem.
Boosting Supply Chain Excellence
According to CM Devendra Fadnavis, the partnership will foster world-class infrastructure to support manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics excellence. “This will make Maharashtra a global leader in logistics and industrial development,” he stated.
Sustainability and Employment Focus
Each park will incorporate green technologies, be digitally integrated, and focus on employment generation, especially for local communities. The initiative is expected to significantly uplift regional economies and accelerate industrial growth across Maharashtra.
