A per diem clinic employee recently met with a similar distressing situation when her work timings were suddenly changed. But things got way more intense when she handed her resignation to the manager, prompting her to appreciate her decision to leave the firm.
According to the woman’s Reddit account, she was originally hired for morning shifts. But over time, her schedule was altered, and she was assigned late-night duties almost every day. With a new academic semester approaching, the woman found it difficult to balance her work hours with her university commitments.
Manager angry at employee’s resignation
The situation led her to look for an alternative work and soon after she secured a work-from-home role offering better pay, benefits, and more flexible hours. After accepting the new offer, the woman formally submitted her resignation through the company’s HR system on the 10th of the month, ensuring she followed the required notice period. Since she was not meant to work again until later in the month, the employee considered her last completed shift as her final day.
Days later, however, the clinic professional was caught off guard when her cellphone was bombarded with calls and messages from her manager in the early hours of the morning. The manager spoke with unbreakable confidence that the employee must have submitted the resignation by mistake and even went to the extent of downright rejecting it.

The employee, however, clarified that her resignation was intentional and reiterated that she would not be returning, as she had already committed to her new job. The manager went on to insist that she wasn’t adhering to the process and attempted to push back on her decision. The interaction left the employee anxious and overwhelmed, despite her belief that she had followed all formal procedures correctly.
Reflecting on the situation, she said the experience only reinforced her decision to leave, as it highlighted deeper issues with communication and management within the workplace.
