No IIT, IIM. Bengaluru techie’s family once lived in a single room in Mumbai slum. Viral post shares how he landed a Rs 30 LPA job and later worked at Google

Where there is a will, there is a way. Taking to X, an X user named Vikas shared the incredible journey of Raj Vikramaditya, an techpreneur from humble origins whose journey started from slums of Mumbai and then reached Google and later entrepreneurship.

After his birth, Raj Vikramanditya’s family shifted to Mumbai where the family faced abject poverty. They lived in a densely populated slum, where all of them lived in a tiny one-room dwelling. Living conditions were extremely challenging, with nearly fifty families depending on a single shared bathroom facility.

Raj pursued his studies at Calcutta Public School and worked diligently toward his academic goals. After completing his schooling, he appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), but was unable to secure a qualifying rank. Undeterred by this setback, he took the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) and earned admission to Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College.

“Right from his first year, he started coding, blogging, and content writing. By the second year, he had stopped asking his parents for money. In his third year, he was rejected for a Microsoft internship opportunity, but he did not give up. In his fourth year, he secured an Amazon internship…” wrote Vikas.

During campus placements, he secured a Rs 30 LPA job, while Rs 4 LPA was the average package at the college. Later, he made it to Google, Bengaluru where he worked for five years.

Today, he is the founder and CEO of takeUforward, a one-stop platform for aspiring software engineers. “Today, the company has 1.5M+ signed-up users and 5M+ monthly users. He now has his own office in Bangalore…” wrote Vikas.
