The Rajasthan government has approved a 2 percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for state employees and pensioners, taking the rate to 60 percent from the earlier 58 percent. The move is expected to benefit a large base of serving staff and retired personnel across the state.
The revised allowance will be effective from 1 January 2026, bringing Rajasthan in line with the latest compensation adjustments seen across several government establishments. The decision covers employees, pensioners and eligible personnel linked to local administrative bodies.
With the revision, employees are expected to see higher monthly payouts in upcoming salary cycles, while arrears for the retrospective period are likely to be settled separately under the applicable disbursement mechanism.
The increase reflects continuing efforts by governments to cushion employees and retirees against inflationary pressures and rising household costs. Dearness allowance remains a key component of public sector compensation, especially during periods of elevated living expenses.
The move also signals how employee welfare and fiscal planning continue to intersect, as states weigh budgetary discipline alongside workforce support measures.
