Dubai Chambers recently held two targeted workshops to keep the emirate’s private sector informed about the latest updates in corporate taxation and employment law in the UAE. A total of 125 business professionals attended the sessions, which aimed to enhance compliance, clarity, and operational readiness in line with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks.

Workshop 1: Corporate Tax – Practical Insights and Readiness

The first session, organised in collaboration with Habib Al Mulla & Partners and Andersen, focused on the evolving UAE Corporate Tax regime. Participants were guided through:

  • Corporate tax applicability
  • Free Zone taxation policies
  • Tax grouping structures
  • Calculation methods and legal considerations
  • Transfer pricing compliance
  • Industry-specific deductions

The session also addressed corporate tax return readiness, recent legislative updates, and tax accounting, ensuring participants are well-prepared for both current and deferred tax requirements.

Workshop 2: Employment Law – Legal Framework and HR Practices

The second workshop, conducted in partnership with Fragomen UAE and Gateley Middle East, offered in-depth guidance on the UAE Employment Law framework, particularly relevant for HR professionals and business leaders.Key areas covered included:

  • Visa categories and work permit processes
  • Probation periods, salary structures, and benefits
  • Performance reviews and grievance handling
  • End-of-service policies and compliance

The session provided practical strategies to navigate the labour law landscape, supporting businesses in maintaining lawful and efficient HR operations.
