BITS Pilani Goa student 'faced 6 job rejections'. Thanks Dhoni, Virat Kohli for inspiration after bagging his dream job on 7th try

Rejections often arrive quietly, but the one acceptance can change everything in an instant. For one student from BITS Pilani Goa Campus, that moment came after a string of missed chances, self-doubt, and relentless persistence. His journey, now going viral on X, is not just about landing a job but about the small, almost accidental moments that can decide the outcome, from answering the right call to staying patient through repeated setbacks.

The student, a self-declared fan of Virat Kohli, shared how he nearly missed an interview opportunity simply because he had been ignoring calls from unknown numbers. In the middle of his job hunt, that habit almost cost him a crucial chance, until he caught the call just in time and managed to get the interview scheduled.

What followed was a mix of humour, pressure, and determination. As conversations unfolded online, he engaged in light banter with other users, even as the underlying tension of another high-stakes interview loomed. Having already faced six rejections, the odds did not seem particularly encouraging.

But the 7th attempt turned things around. He revealed that he successfully cleared the interview for the role he had been hoping for, celebrating the moment with references to MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, drawing inspiration from their resilience and match-winning mindset.

Beyond the job itself, his academic journey also reflects a willingness to take unconventional paths. He shared that despite having the option to pursue computer science at top colleges in Karnataka, he chose a dual degree at BITS Goa to explore broader interests instead of following a more predictable route.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is currently pursuing a dual degree programme, combining a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a Master of Science in Economics. The choice, he indicated, was driven by curiosity and a desire to build a more diverse academic foundation.
