What if the money your company spends on you outside your salary could cover another person’s monthly pay cheque? That is the question now grabbing attention online after a Delhi professional shared a surprising breakdown of his daily office perks.
Morning cab rides, coffee breaks, snacks between meetings, gym sessions and even indoor games, these may feel like small workplace benefits. But when one employee decided to calculate their actual value, the total left social media users stunned.
The viral video was shared by Instagram user Gaurav Dhama, who works in Gurgaon. Instead of talking about appraisals or salary hikes, Dhama focused on something employees rarely notice: the hidden cost of corporate comfort.
And according to his estimate, the number touched nearly Rs 81,400 a month beyond his cost-to-company (CTC).
The clip quickly went viral because many office-goers could instantly relate to it. Several users said they had never realised companies spend such large amounts on employees apart from salaries. Others were surprised to see how small everyday office benefits could together turn into a huge monthly figure.
In the video, Dhama shared parts of his daily office routine and estimated how much his company spends on facilities provided to him beyond his salary package. According to the breakdown shown in the clip, the expenses included around Rs 950 for a morning cab from Delhi to Gurgaon, Rs 150 for breakfast, Rs 150 for a gym session, Rs 200 for four mocha frappes during the day, and Rs 150 for indoor games such as table tennis and pool.
He also included the cost of lunch, snacks, dry fruits, fruits, evening refreshments, stationery and an evening cab ride during peak traffic hours. Based on these calculations, he estimated that the company spends nearly Rs 3,700 on him daily, which comes to around Rs 81,400 a month.
As reported by HT.com, Dhama works at ZS Associates. He also revealed that his role at the company is Decision Analyst Associate, commonly known as DAA.
The internet quickly reacted. Some users praised the company’s facilities, while others joked about how accurately the video captured modern corporate life.
One user commented, “Cool company.” Another wrote, “The company spends this much apart from the CTC too, never thought about it this way.” A third user joked, “Now ask them to allow WFH and pay all this in cash.”
