Corporate jobs today often come with much more than just a monthly salary. From free meals and office transport to gym access, snacks and recreation zones, many companies spend heavily on workplace facilities to make office life more comfortable for employees. A Gurgaon employee has now gone viral for calculating the estimated value of all these benefits and claiming that his company spends nearly Rs 3,700 on him every single day beyond his salary package.
The viral clip was posted by Instagram user Gaurav Dhama, who works in Gurgaon. Instead of discussing appraisals or salary hikes, he focused on something many employees rarely think about — the hidden expenses companies bear to provide office comfort and employee facilities.
Employee calculates daily office perks
In the video, Dhama shared snippets from his daily office routine while adding the estimated cost of every facility provided during the workday. According to the breakdown shown in the clip, his company spends around Rs 3,700 on him each day outside of his salary.
The list began with a Rs 950 morning cab ride from Delhi to Gurgaon and a Rs 1,250 evening cab during peak traffic hours. Apart from transport, he included several food and lifestyle expenses such as Rs 150 for breakfast, Rs 250 for lunch, Rs 150 for evening snacks, Rs 100 worth of fruits, Rs 150 for dry fruits and Rs 100 for snacks between meetings.
He also added workplace facilities including a Rs 150 gym session, Rs 150 for indoor games like table tennis and pool, and Rs 100 worth of stationery. Another talking point in the clip was coffee consumption, with Dhama estimating that four mocha frappes during the day cost around Rs 200.
The text shown in the video read: “How much my company spends on me (other than the CTC); ₹950 Morning cab (del to ggn); ₹150 Goodmorning pineapple (breakfast); ₹150 Tagda gym session; ₹200 4 X mocha frappe (in a day); ₹150 Indoor court (TT and pool); ₹0 Fresh air; ₹250 Lunch time brother; ₹100 Snacks in between; ₹150 Dry fruits; ₹100 Fruits; ₹0 water water water; ₹150 Evening snack; ₹100 Stationary; ₹1250 Evening cab (peak traffic time); Total: ₹3700 for a day; ₹3700 x 22 = 81,400/- monthly.”
Social media reacts to the breakdown
The clip quickly gained attention online, with many users saying they had never thought about office perks in this way. Several viewers pointed out that transport expenses alone were massive, especially for employees travelling daily between Delhi and Gurgaon.
One user commented, “This is the kind of maths every employee wants to see.” Another wrote, “CTC ke alawa company itna bhi spend karti hai, never thought about it this way.” A third user said, “The real benefit is the cab from Delhi to Gurgaon.”
Another comment read, “₹1,250 evening cab in peak traffic is the most accurate thing here.”
Some users also joked about the lifestyle shown in the video. One person wrote, “Four mocha frappes in one day is the real luxury,” while another said, “Fresh air being ₹0 is the best line in the whole video.”
