Early attrition rises as 22% quit within 90 days, citing training gaps: Survey

Despite strong demand for talent, US workers are reporting low engagement and a lack of connection to their roles, creating risks for retention and productivity. Insight Global’s 2025 Employee Sentiment Report, based on a survey of over 900 employees across technology, finance, engineering, and consulting, reveals that only 35% of workers feel engaged or essential in their jobs.

Key findings show that 4 in 5 workers would stay longer with better onboarding, while 22% leave within the first 90 days, often citing poor training. Employees report it takes 6–7 months to feel fully settled, and a strong workplace culture makes them eight times more likely to feel engaged.

Insight Global leaders stress that improving engagement and retention requires role-specific onboarding, intentional culture-building, and connecting daily work to broader organisational purpose. A well-defined culture, they say, is essential to driving productivity, employee satisfaction, and long-term retention.

The report serves as a practical guide for employers seeking to strengthen workforce resilience and enhance performance by putting employees at the centre of organisational strategy.
