Days after a post on social media platform X alleged that incidents similar to those reported in the Nashik TCS case had also taken place at Infosys’ Pune unit, the company has denied the claims, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards workplace misconduct.
The issue gained traction online after the post flagged alleged incidents at the company’s Pune BPM facility, drawing attention from political leaders. Maharashtra cabinet minister Nitesh Rane responded to one such post, stating that the matter had been “noted”.
The controversy comes in the wake of the alleged sexual assault and forced conversion case at TCS Nashik, which has intensified scrutiny over employee safety in corporate workplaces.
Responding to the allegations, Infosys in an official statement to Money Control stated ““Infosys is aware of some social media posts claiming that women employees at Infosys BPM in Pune are facing harassment. Infosys maintains a zero-tolerance approach to any form of harassment or discrimination and is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, positive, and respectful workplace in all jurisdictions in which it operates.”
“The company has well-established policies and robust mechanisms in place to address any concerns, in line with applicable laws. Any issue that is reported is treated seriously and investigated by an independent committee, as per our robust processes. In addition, there are proactive multi-channel preventive programs including ‘speak-up’ culture that encourages employees to report any concerns. Infosys remains committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and workplace conduct, aligned with its Code of Conduct” the company further added in the statement.
